OBRA / PAS
As mandated by the Omnibus Budgetary Reconciliation Act (OBRA) of 1987, this program provides a multi-disciplinary screening and assessment to determine if individuals with a diagnosis of mental illness, mental retardation, or developmental disability (other related conditions) require the services provided by a nursing facility, and have the active treatment needs specific to their disability.
The Pre-Admission Screening (PAS) requires an
in-person assessment by a trained Agency staff member.
